BetterBrews Cards

Your details and your loyalty card

Last updated 28 August 2026

You joined a café's loyalty card. This page says exactly what is kept, who has it, and how to get rid of it. It is short because there is not much to it.

1. What is kept

Your email address
So the card is yours and you can get it back if you lose your phone.
Your name
Only if you gave one. You do not have to.
Your stamps
How many you have, and when each one was added.

That is all of it. No payment details. The café is never told how you paid. No location. Nothing about what you bought.

2. How to get rid of it

Email andy@betterbrews.app and say you want your card deleted. We will do it and tell you when it is done. You do not have to give a reason.

You can also ask for a copy of what is held, ask for something to be corrected, or ask us to stop using it. Same address, same answer.

Deleting the pass from your phone removes the card from your wallet but does not delete the details. Email us for that.

3. Who has it

The café whose card you joined. They decide what happens to your details.

The card runs on software called BetterBrews Cards, made by Andy Jamerson, self-employed (autónomo), registered in Spain, based in Barcelona, Spain. We hold the details on the café’s behalf and only do what the café asks. We do not use them for anything of our own. Ask us for our full postal address and we will give it to you.

Your details are never sold, and you will never be marketed to because of this card.

4. Why it is allowed

You asked for a loyalty card and these are the details it takes to give you one. In data protection language, that is the café performing the agreement you entered into when you joined.

5. Where it is kept, and for how long

In the European Union. It is kept while you have a card. If the café stops using the service, or you ask us to delete it, it goes.

These companies help run the card:

Supabase
Holds the database and handles sign-in emails. Ireland (EU).
Vercel
Runs the website and the app. EU and USA.
Stripe
Takes the café's payment. Never sees cardholder data. EU and USA.
Apple
Delivers the card to Apple Wallet and updates it when it changes. EU and USA.
Google
Delivers the card to Google Wallet. EU and USA.

Where any of them handle your details outside the European Union, that is covered by the standard contract clauses the European Commission has approved for it.

6. If you are not happy

Tell us first, at andy@betterbrews.app, and we will try to sort it. If you would rather go to a regulator, you can complain to the data protection authority in the country you live in. In Spain that is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos.
